How Does it Work?
The technology is based on the principle of micro-thermal treatment zones. Infrared laser light passes through Pixel Perfect™'s patented optics to remove the epidermis and upper dermis while the skin around each perforation remains intact. Thus, the targeted light creates thousands of micro-injuries without disturbing the surrounding tissue. That way, large unaffected areas of skin act promote rapid healing and new collagen growth.
Since each Pixel Perfect™ treatment triggers the growth of new skin tissue, the existing facial imperfections are replaced by a healthier, smoother skin tissue. Is Pixel Perfect™ Safe?
Laser treatments are safe and effective, without injections or invasive cosmetic surgery. You can expect some redness of the skin after the treatment that is similar to a sunburn. However, this is completely normal and short-lived. You will be asked to carefully follow your pre-treatment and post-procedural instructions as provided by our doctors and staff.
Does Laser Resurfacing Hurt?
Generally speaking, the Pixel Perfect™ procedure has been compared to that of a sunburn, but the amount of pain will vary from one person to the next. Your Orlando health provider from our practice may prescribe an over-the-counter pain medicine to make you more comfortable. The sunburn sensation is likely to continue for a couple of days following each treatment.
Such symptoms are normal and should improve within approximately three days. In addition, as your new skin replaces dead tissue, the outer layers will begin to flake or peel. This too is normal and your skin will look better immediately. Steady improvements should occur for a few months after a laser resurfacing procedure.
How Long Will a Treatment Take?
A Pixel Perfect™ treatment usually takes less than 30 minutes, but it could take longer if your skin condition is more advanced. Your exact regimen will depend on your specific needs for correcting discolorations and fine lines.
Will I Need to Come Back for Follow-Up Treatments?
Unfortunately, we cannot stop the aging process. But, depending on your original skin condition and your lifestyle following treatment, your new look can last for months. In fact, your skin should continue to improve for about six months following your last Pixel Perfect™ treatment. So, based on your cosmetic goals, you may need to consider multiple treatments.
