XEOMIN® in Orlando
XEOMIN® is a neuromodulator like Botox® that has no additives and does not have to be refrigerated before use. Like other neural injectables, it temporarily blocks nerve impulses in targeted areas of facial skin. Since XEOMIN® injections temporarily paralyze muscles, contraction-induced muscle movements that cause wrinkles are eliminated. Over time, the cumulative benefits may allow the facial skin to remodel without the negative influence of the wrinkle-creating facial muscles caused signs of early aging.
What is XEOMIN®?
Produced by Merz Pharmaceuticals, XEOMIN® is FDA-approved to treat the same facial lines treated by other neuromodulators. The most common facial areas targeted include horizontal lines across the forehead and perpendicular frown lines between the brows (“The Elevens”). Moreover, XEOMIN® is used to manage crow’s feet, nasal squint lines, lines around the neck and eyebrow lifting.
Why choose XEOMIN®?
XEOMIN® injections are safe for all skin types and skin colors. Treatments using XEOMIN® are becoming an increasingly popular component of many individual's anti-aging strategy. Since the neuromodulator reduces the intensity and frequency of contraction-induced wrinkles, ongoing treatments may help prevent the formation of deeper lines. The prescription drug is also FDA-approved to treat blepharospasm (an abnormal, involuntary blinking or spasm of the eyelid). Although there is no permanent cure for blepharospasm, XEOMIN® injections may reduce the severity of spasms.
How is this Procedure Conducted?
Although some individuals may not require any anesthetic, a topical anesthetic cream can be used for those with skin that is more sensitive. Depending on the number of treatment areas, XEOMIN® injections typically require 15 to 20 minutes with no down time. During the treatment, a very fine needle is used to inject the neurotoxin into each targeted muscle. The procedure may produce minor discomfort similar to a tiny pinch.
As is the case with other injectables, you may experience slight redness or swelling at the injection sites. This quickly subsides and you can resume normal activities immediately after receiving treatment. Slight bruising can occur at the injection site, but can normally be hidden by concealer. Within 2 to 3 days, you should notice a smoother, more wrinkle-free skin, but improvements should continue for about 2 weeks. In male patients with stronger facial muscles, it may take as long as a month for results to peak.
How often should I do XEOMIN®?
For 4 to 6 months following XEOMIN® injections, your skin will feel smoother and appear lifted with a more youthful and awakened appearance. At some point, muscle contractions will gradually return and wrinkles or fine lines start to reappear. Each time this may appear less severe than before because the muscles are being trained to relax. Touch-ups every 4 to 6 months will normally produce optimal results. Treatment intervals may widen in time, as your facial muscles require less maintenance.

The staff were great! Sorry I don't recall all names. I found them to be very professional and made the process of "cutting" on my ear pretty relaxing. My only question was that I was prescribed 5 pain pills to cover pain for the next 30 hours, yet was not given a Dr's excuse to miss work the following day. Thus I assume they felt it was ok to go to work under the influence of Hydrocodone :) All in all I would highly recommend the staff and Dr's at the Sand Lake office!
